How to choose a range hood
Start with width: a hood should be at least as wide as the cooktop below it, so a 30" range takes a 30" hood and a 36" range a 36" hood. Both of our models come in both widths.
The DU108R is an under-cabinet style hood with two motors rated 680 CFM — sized for high-heat cooking and wok frying — at 65 dB, roughly the level of a lively conversation. It has six speeds with soft-touch control, a hand-wave sensor and a remote, three baffle filters, two lights and a 6" duct outlet.
The DU202 is a wall-mounted chimney hood with a single motor, soft-touch control, a baffle filter and two 2 W LED lights. Its two 20.27" chimney sections cover the duct run up to the ceiling, so it suits an open wall between cabinets rather than the space under a cabinet.
Both hoods are 430 stainless steel with baffle filters. Ducting, the outside cap and installation are not included — plan a 6" duct run to the outdoors for the DU108R. Every hood is certified for installation in Canada and covered by a one-year warranty. Real product photos are on the way; each listing shows the manufacturer's spec sheet for now, or call 613-516-0166 to see one first.
Range Hoods questions
Which hood do I need for heavy cooking?
The DU108R: 680 CFM from two motors with six speeds. The single-motor DU202 chimney hood suits lighter everyday cooking. Match the hood width to your range first.
How loud is 65 dB?
Roughly the level of a lively conversation. That is the rated noise level of the DU108R at full speed; its lower speeds are quieter.
What duct size do I need?
The DU108R has a 6" round duct outlet. Ducting and the outside cap are not included.
Is installation included?
No. Range hoods are sold for pickup only; installation and ducting are not included. Both models are certified for installation in Canada.
What is the warranty?
One year.
